Each year the University of Maryland welcomes more than 40,000 visitors at our Visitor Center, located in Turner Hall. A great place to begin any campus visit, our friendly and informed staff is available to give you a warm Terrapin welcome. Drop by for parking information, directions, campus maps, and Visitor Guides. Our student welcomers will assist you in getting to your final campus destination and answer questions about the University and our local community. Campus visits and tour options are available.
Visit our exhibits on University of Maryland history when you arrive. Take a stroll through the lobby to see photos of our famous alumni and our academic accomplishments. Or, spend some time reflecting on our Maryland Moments wall in the auditorium to see a history that spans over 150 years. And, our Fear the Turtle sculpture, The Freshman, holds a special surprise for our young visitors.
If you have more time, relax and view the historical video, Keeping the Promise, or ask to see several others in our collection.
