The Campus Recreation Services (CRS) Department offers a variety of programs and services that guests of the university may take advantage of while staying on campus. Not all guests are eligible for CRS offerings. Ask your program contact for more information. Basketball and volleyball pick-up games, racquetball, handball, wally ball, squash courts, fitness centers, outdoor tennis courts, indoor swimming, aerobics classes (sign up or drop in), an 18-hole golf course (green's fee apply), bowling and movie showings… the options are endless. Information regarding hours of operation, costs, locations, equipment check-in/out, and dates of special recreation activities can be found at your conference hospitality desk. All campus guests may utilize services offered by the Health Center Staff. Office visits and
laboratory services will be billed directly to the treated guest. Arrangements for special medical needs
(e.g., allergy injections, insulin storage) may be made by calling 301.314.8184.
Located across from the UM Visitor Center, on Route 1, is the full-service UM Police Department. Uniformed police officers in cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and on foot, patrol the campus around-the-clock. Foot escorts are available by calling 301.405.3555.To report any emergency, dial 911 from any telephone on campus. This notifies an emergency police dispatcher, via computer, of the caller's exact location, and is free of charge.

The University of Maryland is a large campus. Often, conference groups contract services with our on-campus shuttle service known as Shuttle UM. This service is chartered service and can be arranged through the contract service with your program manager. Shuttle UM offers free service with no ID required to and from the College Park Metro station.
The bus leaves the Stamp Student Union every 8 minutes between 6:30 a.m. to 7:50 p.m. on weekdays.
