Meeting Planning Services

Meeting Planning Services, a sector of the department of conferences and visitor services, provides University System of Maryland conference planners an invaluable service. Whether your conference is held on or off campus, our department can provide experienced, knowledgeable staff to guide you through all phases of the meeting planning process. We coordinate all logistical details to ensure your event runs flawlessly. With these tasks taken care of, you are free to focus on developing a meaningful and dynamic program for your conference attendees.

Our services can be customized to fit the needs of your specific conference. They include:
  • Developing and monitoring the conference budget and fund management (ie: the receipt and payment of monies)
  • Consulting services for conference activities and planning
  • Hotel site selection and contract negotiation
  • Arranging and managing meeting room set ups, audio visual equipment requirements, meals and other social functions
  • Purchasing conference amenities
  • Providing on-site staff to serve the function of an information center for conference registration and logistics
