Directions to Registration

We look forward to seeing you! As you arrive:

  • Follow the directions and parking instructions. You can not turn left into Ritchie from Route 1. Attempting to do a U-Turn may slow down traffic and presents a safety risk.
  • Send only the team coach into the registration area.
  • At registration, get a parking permit for main campus and directions to your residence hall.

Registration Hours
Thursday: noon to midnight, Ritchie Coliseum
Friday: 8am to midnight, Ritchie Coliseum
Saturday: 8am to noon, Ritchie Coliseum; after noon, registration at Odyssey Information, Stamp Student Union

Via I-95 South

Recommended:

  1. Take I-95 South to the Capital Beltway East (I-495)
  2. I-95 South will merge to the left, joining I-495 East
  3. Take Exit 23 201 Kenilworth Avenue Bladensburg Greenbelt
  4. Proceed south on 201 in the direction of Greenbelt Road and Bladensburg
  5. At second light, turn right onto Paint Branch Parkway
  6. Proceed approximately two miles to U.S. Route 1
  7. At the light, cross Route 1 onto campus (When you enter campus, you are on Campus Drive .)
  8. At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto Regents Drive .
  9. Follow Regents Drive back to Route 1.
  10. Turn left onto Route 1 and follow signage and/or staff to parking for Ritchie Coliseum

Alternate:

  1. Take I-95 south to the Capital Beltway (I-495)
  2. Take exit 27 and then follow signs to Exit 25 U.S. 1 South, College Park
  3. Proceed approximately two miles on U.S. Route 1 South
  4. Turn right onto campus at Campus Drive
  5. At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto Regents Drive .
  6. Follow Regents Drive back to Route 1.
  7. Turn left onto Route 1 and follow signage and/or staff to parking for Ritchie Coliseum

Via 295 (the Baltimore/Washington Parkway )

  1. Take 295 to its Northern intersection with the Capital Beltway (I-95/I-495)
  2. Exit at I-95 / I-495 North
  3. Stay in right lane
  4. Take Exit 23 201 Kenilworth Avenue Bladensburg Greenbelt
  5. Proceed South on 201 in the direction of Greenbelt Road and Bladensburg
  6. At 3rd light, turn right onto Paint Branch Parkway

Via Maryland Side of Capital Beltway (I-495)

  1. Take I-95 North to the Capital Beltway (I-495)
  2. Follow I-95/I-495 North toward Baltimore
  3. Take Exit 23 201 Kenilworth Avenue Bladensburg Greenbelt
  4. Proceed South on 201 towards Greenbelt Rd and Bladensburg
  5. At 3rd light, turn right onto Paint Branch Parkway
  6. Proceed approximately two miles to U.S. Route 1
  7. At the light, cross Route 1 onto campus (When you enter campus, you are on Campus Drive .)
  8. At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto Regents Drive .
  9. Follow Regents Drive back to Route 1.

  1. Take I-66 East or I-270 South to Capital Beltway (I-495)
  2. Go East on I-495 toward " Baltimore "
  3. Take Exit 28B " 650 South New Hampshire Ave Tacoma Park"
  4. Go South on New Hampshire Avenue , approximately 1/2 mile
  5. At the second traffic light, turn left onto Adelphi Road
  6. At 3rd traffic light, turn left onto University Boulevard (Route 193)
  7. Turn right onto U.S. Route 1 South to College Park .
  8. Turn right onto campus at Campus Drive
  9. At the traffic circle, take the third exit onto Regents Drive .
  10. Follow Regents Drive back to Route 1.
  11. Turn left onto Route 1 and follow signage and/or staff to parking for Ritchie Coliseum

Alternate:

Via 16th Street North

  1. Take 16th St. North 16th St. becomes Georgia Ave. North at Maryland/D.C. line
  2. Go East on the Capital Beltway (I-495) toward " Baltimore "
  3. Take Exit 28B " 650 South New Hampshire Avenue Tacoma Park"
  4. Go South on New Hampshire Avenue
  5. Proceed approximately 1/2 mile
  6. At the second traffic light, turn left onto Adelphi Road

  8. Proceed through two traffic lights and exit right onto U.S. Route 1 South to College Park
  9. Turn right onto campus at Campus Drive

Via U.S. 1 North

  1. Take Rhode Island Ave. ( U.S. 1 North)
  2. Rhode Island Ave. (U.S. 1 North) becomes Baltimore Ave. North at the Maryland/D.C. line
  3. Proceed through the city of College Park
  4. Follow signage and/or staff to parking for Ritchie Coliseum

From College Park Metro

We suggest you take a taxi from the College Park Metro station to Ritchie Coliseum. There is no direct service between the Metro and registration.

By Bus

Shuttle UM, the free campus shuttle, runs only between the metro station and the Stamp Student Union.

Metrobus has service between the College Park Metro station and central campus. If you obtain a bus transfer at your originating Metro station, the fare is $.45. Otherwise, bus fare is $1.35.

On Friday and Saturday, there will be a shuttle bus that runs between Stamp Union and Ritchie Coliseum during registration hours.

By Taxi

Note About Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday

Registration moves to the Stamp Student Union on Saturday.. To get to the Union, follow the directions above. At the traffic circle on campus, take the second exit, staying on Campus Drive . Stamp Union will be on your right. (It is the building with the statue of Jim Henson and Kermit the Frog in front of it.) At the stop sign at Union Lane , turn right. You may park in the Union Lane Garage. The cost is $3 per hour, maximum $15 per day.
